Artist's Statement

My portfolio is all about what I did in Photography class for the past semester. My portfolio shows how my work was in the beginning of the year and also shows how my work turned out by the end of the year. I think that my portfolio turned out pretty good for the most part because there is a lot of interesting pictures.

Last semester I learned all kinds of new things , from learning how to add a shadow to a picture to how to make something blend good enough so that things look real. I also learned lots of new vocabulary and what a camera can really do besides taking pictures. I feel like I was most successful with working with Photo shop and learning all the different kinds of things you can do. What I had struggled with the most was paying attention when we're all being taught Photo shop at once. It was real over whelming for me to get all the steps and I was afraid I would fall behind...For me that was fustrating!

I hope to improve in everything. When I take pictures or work with Photo shop I can improve in all the detail.Some of my influences were getting the chances to see a new artist work every week.Getting the chance to see what they're capable of doing made me want to think harder about my work.
I feel like I have improved in taking pictures. Now I know that I am not suppose to put the main subject right in the middle of the picture. Another thing that I will make sure to look out for when taking pictures is the lighting,which can make a big difference. I also know that if I want to make a picture more interesting I can add leading lines.I hope you enjoyed looking at my profolio as much as I enjoyed taking this class!!

Self Portraits

My metaphor

My metaphor is a stray dog. I wanted to do my metaphor on a stray dog because a dog that is on its own dose everything by there self they are independent. The dog has to take care of there self while it’s growing up.
The mood that I was trying to get at was funny. I didn’t want it to be all deep so I went with trying to make it look funny. I thought it would be funny to see a dog with crazy hair and human arms. That background is very plan so that way most of the attention would be on the dog.
My composition is very balance by adding the words on the side of the dog. I did feel like the picture all combined all together at the end. I feel like I did a good job on this picture. It started off difficult for me but when I had already pictured it in my head the project went easier for me.

The Aesthetic Experince

What I thought about when i first saw the clear cup of water was that it was clean but when the coloring went in to it made it look very dirty. I thought about it as if it was a baby clean and Innocent but when that baby grows up they change like how the water did. The water got very dark like if they represent the sins someone has made.

We had learn how to make things look even more real.We were able to make a dogs head blind in to a birds body.

Shodow and Reflections

What we had to do on this project was to be able to make a reflection and also to add a shadow. I thought that was a cool thing to know because it can make pics look more real.

Graduation invitation and Student Handbook

This project we had to make a student handbook for next year.We also had to make a invitation for our graduation

This picture we had to tern a new picture and make i look like its old.

Balance with Frames

In this project we were given a frame. We had to use in our composition. We also had to be in our photo, but not in the center. It was to be in black and white, and we needed to create a sense of visual balance. I use some balance in this picture off of the windows in back of me.

Egg Challenge

In this project each student was given an egg to photograph. We were to take a photo in both color and black-and-white. We were supposed to exemplify one or more of the following: Creativity, Craftsmanship or Composition.

I believe my color one was the most successful. I like this picture better because the orange came out real bright next to the egg, The picture also has allot of shadows in it.

My Favorite Project Last Semester

In this project we were suppose to change it up,and make a frame around the main object.
